Talinie & Thurazor maps

Talinie: http://www.halfblogre.com/2011/06/talinie-map/
Thurazor: http://www.halfblogre.com/2011/06/thurazor-map/

He has taken the maps from the Talinie player’s secrets and redone them to a hex style. However, I have noted that each map places the Aelvinwode in different places.

The Thurazor maps he has had to invent and has added a few “personal touches”.

Sorontar

looks great !!! i would like to know how to make hex maps, since we play our battles on hexfields.

thanks for sharing this

They look beautiful! Seems like graphics that match the Mystara maps, which makes sense.

However, I have noted that each map places the Aelvinwode in different places.
The Aelvinwode is huge. It covers much of Talinie, Boeruine, The Five Peaks, Dhoesone and Mhoried, and also includes all of Tuarhievel, Thurazor, Cariele and Rhobhe’s realm. Really, each of those maps should have just parts of a few massive letters of a giant banner Aelvinwode label which covers all those realms on a bigger map.

A good first approximation is to just get electronic copies of maps, blow them up really big, and print them out onto hex graph paper.

since we play our battles on hexfields
Excellent choice! Which battle rules do you use?

thanks i will try it !!!

oh we play second edition, first we used the might empires box from games workshop for building up the province in which a battle was, this way we could use strategies like flanking units and so on …, of coure we use all the terrain effect cards.

right know we use a big hexfield on which we copy the provinces with a textmarker, but since this takes a long time, i will try to use this technique.

the map of tournen !

great work

these are just great!

are we allowed to make some requests?

I would love to have an hex-map of the Giantdowns!

Could we please have a fill in on which program are you using to make those if possible and if you are working on any material I would suggest maps that have not been published so far, Thurazor was awsome, Taeghas is missing, Brosengae etc

me too !!!

i just wrote the halfblogre team an email, maybe they will share there style of mapmaking, so that we all can work and share new and better maps

isn’t it Hexographer or something?

the people at the Vault of Pandius used that a lot.

thanks i will take a look at it

thank you very much and keep up the great work

Awesome work, I love how easy is to work with Hexographer

Definitely Hexographer with Mystara icons by the looks of them. I tried searching for the icons, but could not find them as a set, only used in maps.

the folks from halfblogre use photoshop for their hexfield maps…

take a look at the cariele map

http://www.halfblogre.com/2011/08/cariele-map/

greatwork !

You sure about that? Because they are exceedingly similar to Mystara .png maps created by Hexographer. I imagined they did the hexes and such in Hexographer and then perhaps added something in Photosop or PSP or whatever.

yes, lucky told me so, he is trying to join this community

OK, just wondering. I recently tried to convert some maps to hex format using Hexographer, and it was quite easy, so I imagined others had used it as well.

Side note: Is there a problem joining BR.net?

They’re exactly like Mystara’s ones.

Beautiful maps and they brought back some great memories from my early D&D days.
