Corrections: Domain Dossier: The Burrows

This page is quite wrong and non-canonical (see Havens of the Great Bay aka HotGB), regardless of what it claims.

Ruler
The Council of Elders (canon-attested institution)

It has a regent, who is head of the council. The council is called the Quintain Council, not Council of Elders.

Bloodline: Halflings of the Burrows have no Cerilian bloodlines (canonically)

Canonically, nothing is said about this. There is no restriction on halflings being blooded.

Alignment
Neutral Good

No, HotBG says Lawful Good

Capital
No formal capital; council seats rotate

Nothing canon about that. In fact, HotGB points out that the regent has set a record for being the longest serving regent in history and may be looking for a successor. In the wiki, I created a bureaucratic capital - Dunleading in the province represented by the regent.

Enemies
Goblin raiders, Spiderfell agents, the Gorgon’s scouts

Spiderfell and the Gorgon are too far to be a problem. HotGB says the enemies are mainly the Sphinx.

The Burrows hosts the Guardians of the Burrows (regency.txt:5513), an elite halfling
defence force who specialise in tracking, ambush, and the quiet defence of the realm’s
scattered villages.

Interesting but I don’t believe that the name is canon, because I created Graysund Fenstone, leader of the Quintain Brigade of Guardians and Watchers. If there was a canon name, I would have used that.

Religion
Halfling ancestor-veneration; some Sera-worship among traders; rural Erik observance

While this may sort of be true, HotGB says the only established “temple” is Land’s Protectorate, which does not specifically worship any deity. Whether the priests/clerics get spells from Erik, Sera or any other deity is purely speculation, according to HotGB. Therefore, what this says is misleading.

There are other errors on this page in the other sections. It really needs a complete rewrite, even if it just sticks to what is canon, and avoids the new bits in the wiki.

Slight Correction/Clarification. The Book of Regency does name the military as “the Quintain
Guardians of the Burrows” (pg 85). I would read this as the Quintain Guardians from the Burrows though. I will amend the wiki about this, making it clearer who the Watchers are (i.e., not part of the Guardians).

Aren’t the Watchers part of the halfling army? I always thought they were the scouts arm…

I believe I was responsible for the name the Watchers and that I viewed it as an unofficial group allied with the Land’s Protectorate, watching for breaches between Aebrynis and the Shadow World.

Good name, then! Fits… and it gives me an idea…
