Deadly how? As I ponder this, the term “dangerous” comes to mind. I do not
believe that a mortal may have a pure bloodline to whomever, as such would denote
that said mortal is that god. Effects of drinking someone’s blood would have to
factor in bloodline strength, in addition to the god’s reported alignment (or
sphere of influence). Therefore, a vampire drinking the blood of a scion to
Azrai will gain some benefit while drinking the blood of a scion to a
good-aligned god would suffer some penalties. The blood of a scion to a
neutral-aligned god would carry neither benefit nor penalty. My reasoning
behind this is that blood is the water of life for the vampire. Just as drinking
tap water will keep a person alive, drinking mineral-enriched water can keep the
person healthy while drinking salt water can make the person sink. Taken in
extreme amounts, the benefits will go only so far while the penalties can indead
result in death.
Could a vampire gain the blood abilities a scion? Yes, but only from the dark
aligned derivations, and then only for a few days. (After all, does eating and
drinking one day keep you alive for more than a few days without?) Drinking the
blood from neutral aligned derivations would not grant additional powers, just a
few more days of unlife. Drinking the blood from a good aligned derivation could
shorten the vampire’s unlife, based on bloodline strength of the scion and how
much the vampire consumed. I would rule that the vampire would know the
difference in derivation based on taste and has enough time to react to limit the
effects, unless said vampire has just risen from the dead and never had a chance
to experience blood otherwise.
In game terms, a vampire drinking all the blood of scion to a dark aligned
derivation gains all the abilities of the scion at the same strength. This would
last a day or two. Drinking partial amounts of a scion’s blood gains a partial
number of the scion’s abilities, but a the same strength. Thus, the blood of a
scion to Azrai with a bloodline strenght of 10 and 2 abilites would grant the
vampire 2 abilities of strength 10, should the scion die during the feeding.
Drinking between half and all the scion’s blood grants the vampire 1 ability,
chosen at random, with a strength of 10. Less than that, the vampire doesn’t
gain anything other benefit. The strenght and number of abilities would decrease
over a 2 day period. Drinking the blood of another scion would not necessarily
add to the abilities gained. Instead, the blood abilities and strength of the
strongest scion would be granted to the vampire.
Drinking the blood of scion to a good aligned derivation would cause the vampire
to loose a percentage of its total hit points based on bloodline strength.
Decrease the percentage based on how much blood the vampire consumed to a minimum
of 1%. Hit points lost in this manner would not be fully regenerated for at
least a day or two while the “poisonous” blood is still in the vampire’s system.
I know nothing of this “Vampire” referenced in other posts, but IMHO, vampires
are plenty strong. Giving them permanent blood abilities will make them too
strong. Thus, any scion killed by a vampire will loose all blood abilities in
its unlife.
